(home)(poems)

just to be nominated

  so here we are underdressed
in skin sleeves and mind maps
  too formed, too loud
  too late

  and the giants of course
have already arrived stars blue whales
pig dreams and pollen raw death
  and temptation and so

  much

  time

  passes languid fingered
in our pockets we don’t belong
  here i know
  they’ll kick us out

  soon we’ve imposed and
don’t wipe our feet it’s home
  after all we guest on
  dirt floor and can’t wait

  to leave
  but it’s an honor.
i can’t stay long but thank you
i will take all my things and one

last look at ants still biting
  over toys stars forgetting me
  already i linger
i don’t want to disturb you

  so my fingers trail doorframe
  until i let it close
  quiet behind me
  into a night darker

  warmer than i

  thought it

  could be
